Couples and Family Therapy

Families are often complex groups of people. Therapy can help families get through challenging times.

One of our strengths at Watermark is our ability to offer a treatment team approach within our practice. When it is both appropriate and helpful we can involve multiple therapists who work together for a common purpose in the family system. Sometimes it looks like different family members each having their own therapist (who collaborate as a team) to provide individual support for the same situation. Our clinicians can coordinate the therapeutic process and keep everyone moving towards the same goal.

Some of the types of family therapy we offer are: general family therapy, couples therapy and Complex Family Therapy for families involved in legal situations.

  • Family therapy can be helpful in both times of crisis and in pursuit of growth and connection.

Sometimes crises such as conflict, loss and grief, periods of transition or tragedy occur and a family needs support to get through the immediate challenges and restablize.

If you’re in a situation that is either complex or is a crisis, you may need a higher level of care than general family therapy can offer. We can achieve faster family stability through the involvement of multiple therapists or increasing intervention during the crisis time.

Family therapy can be for families outside of crisis too. Maybe you want to address an old relationship wound or improve an unhelpful family pattern? We love to see systemic and intergenerational repairs made to benef healthy, thriving families.

If you need urgent support, please indicate to our office that you are looking for time-sensitive care so that your needs may be addressed as soon as is possible.

This is not a substitute for emergency services, please safely find your way to the nearest hospital, diall911 or text HELP to 721-721 to receive emergency care.

  • Complex Family Therapy is our specific approach to family therapy when a family system is going through complicated and difficult situations.

The goal of Complex Family Therapy is to rebuild family connections where there has been a break in the relationships.

Sometimes, families may be court ordered to engage in family or coparenting therapy. We have an established four-step, collaborative process that has successfully assisted many families working through difficult situations.

If you have been court ordered to work with a Parenting Coordinator, engage in co-parenting, reunification, or family therapy, we would love to work with you.

Complex Family Therapy cases are taken on a case by case basis, please call our office or CLICK HERE for more information.
