Sommer Piotrowski M.A.

  • I am a passionate and dedicated fourth-year doctoral student pursuing a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree. I have a strong foundation in clinical psychology and hold a master’s degree in the field. Additionally, I am committed to holistically approaching mental health and integrating various therapeutic modalities to tailor treatment to each individual’s unique needs. My therapeutic style is eclectic and emphasizes a strengths-based approach that incorporates cognitive-behavioral techniques. Furthermore, I prioritize building a strong therapeutic alliance and fostering a safe, non-judgemental space for exploration and growth. I embrace cultural humility, acknowledging that each individual is a unique multicultural being who is shaped by their experiences, beliefs, and values. I actively seek to understand and learn from my clients, valuing their lived experiences and integrating these insights into the therapeutic process.

A little bit about me: In my free time I love to cook, read, explore new coffee shops, and spend time with my loved ones. Although I was born and raised on the West Coast, I have fallen in love with Virginia!
